Midland Play Inspections

Luke Emerson has hired bouncy castles out across south Warwickshire since 2011 through Best Party Hire, so he came at inspection from the operator's side of the clipboard: fifteen years of being inspected, booking tests around a season that doesn't stop, and chasing reports that arrived later than the party. Midland Play Inspections is the service he wanted as a hirer. He's RPII registered (A10246), works to BS EN 14960-1:2019, and covers the Midlands from Lighthorne Heath, just off junction 12 of the M40.

I built the site and host it, and I've also helped with Best Party Hire's website and SEO.

Twenty-one area pages

The Midlands is a big patch to rank in, and "bouncy castle inspection" on its own won't get you found by somebody in Nuneaton whose annual is due. So the site has an areas hub with twenty-one pages underneath it - towns like Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Northampton, Worcester, Derby and Nottingham, plus county pages for the wider runs - each with its own H1, the drive from Lighthorne Heath, and local detail worth reading. That's the same approach my guide to targeting specific areas describes, and the town pages also do the practical work of explaining travel costs and shared fleet days.

The area pages are the reason the site can turn up for "bouncy castle inspection Birmingham" or "inflatable testing Atherstone" without the homepage trying to be everything at once. There's more on the shape of it in my guide to structuring your site.

Words from the other side of the clipboard

The content is the part that makes a one-person inspection business believable, and Luke had plenty of it - fifteen years of hire experience, strong opinions about paperwork that turns up late, and a clear idea of what a hirer wants from an inspector. We worked through it together and shaped it into pages explaining what he inspects, what an RPII annual involves, PAT testing for blowers and party equipment, and the questions hirers ask before booking. The guides section covers the things people search for when a tag is due: how a castle should be anchored, what an air pressure test checks, whether a tested castle needs a tag, and what makes someone competent to inspect a bouncy castle. The client case studies show the work on real fleets, including his own Best Party Hire kit, and the blog logs changes to the site.

The three inspector sites

Midland Play Inspections is one of three sites I host for inflatable inspectors, all built on the Chobble Template:

They share a shape because the job is the same: say what you inspect, name the standards, show the towns you cover, and make the paperwork sound like something a hirer can rely on. The differences are in the trade each one does - PIPA tags and training, playgrounds to BS EN 1176, or RPII annuals across a big rural patch - and each site's content is written around that. If you inspect play equipment, there's more on what these sites need on my play equipment inspector websites page.

Technical details

It's the Chobble Template with a custom navy theme, built as a static site and deployed to Bunny's content delivery network through GitHub Actions. Luke edits the pages through PagesCMS, and the source is public on GitHub, as with every site I build, so you can read it before you hire me and take it with you if you leave.

If you inspect inflatables or playgrounds and want a site that covers the places you work, fill in the form below and I'll reply within 48 hours. Builds are £200 an hour, hosting starts at £10 a month, and you own the code.
