I'm Prestwich born and raised, and I build websites and offer tech help to local businesses, charities, and community groups. If you need someone local who can explain things without jargon and won't lock you into a platform you can't get out of, I'm probably a good fit.

Paid work round here has included the site Renegade Solar, the solar panel installers, run on - they now sit near the top of Google for "solar panel installer Prestwich" - and alongside that I've been supporting charities and community groups round Prestwich for 14+ years, including Blue Pits Housing Action, and running Vegan Prestwich, the local vegan directory my wife and I have kept going since 2018. My wife also runs Button Kin, an indie games studio, from the same Prestwich building as me, so hiring someone local here genuinely means meeting the person who'd build your site.

The technical setup

Everything I build is static: you edit plain text files (or use a visual editor, or just send me the changes), the site rebuilds itself, and hosting through Bunny.net's CDN costs pennies a month. There's no database, no plugins, and nothing to patch, which is why the sites load quickly and keep loading quickly - the same boring Eleventy-based setup that all of the examples I publish run on, with the code available on my Git forge if you want to read it.

Pricing in plain terms

On money: simple websites start from around £600 (half that for charities, co-ops, artists, and vegan businesses), hosting is £10/month without support or £40/month with ongoing help, and everything's billed at a flat hourly rate with a written breakdown before I start - no surprise invoices. You own the full source code whatever happens, so you can host it yourself or move it to another developer any time you like.
