Google Maps / Google Business quick setup & walkthrough

Can't find your business when folk search locally? That's because Google Business listings get pride of place in search results, way above normal websites. This video sorts you out with a walkthrough of setting up and optimising your Google Business profile, so local customers can find you.

I'll show you exactly why these listings appear before most websites (with real examples), then walk you through the whole setup process - from verification to getting your photos sorted, managing reviews, and all the bits that make a difference. Really useful if you're a local business that needs to show up when people search for your services nearby. It takes about 15 minutes to watch, could transform your local visibility.

In the video I search "plumber", "electrician" and "party equipment hire" from a fresh browser tab with no history, and Google still serves Maps listings from businesses near me - the organic results sit so far down the page you have to scroll for them. That's the whole argument for getting a listing sorted. The video also walks through verification, photos, and reviews, plus one trade-off I get asked about a lot: you don't have to show your home address if you serve people at theirs, but untick it and you'll show up in Maps listings less often. I've taken the view that it's worth my address showing up for the sake of appearing more, but it's your call.

The "party equipment hire" search in the video is the industry I spent a decade in - I was lead developer at Bouncy Castle Network, a bouncy castle hire company, and sorting their listing was part of the job. Client reviews if you want the human version of the evidence.
